The number of Covid-19 cases in Flathead County continues to hover around 1,000. As of Monday, the number of known active cases in the county was 1,033, but county health officials recently noted they don’t have the staff and resources to contract trace all the known cases in a timely manner.
The number of cases in the county is roughly double what was seen in early August and 10 times more than what was recorded in July, when July 12 saw about 117 active cases.
Logan Health last week reported 37 people hospitalized, nine in intensive care and four on ventilators.
Of the 37, seven were vaccinated, but none were in ICU or on ventilators.
Columbia Falls schools have also had some cases. As of Sept. 17, there were 38 cases district-wide and 14 staffers who have come down with the illness, though only one staffer was currently an active case.
Masks are optional at School District 6 schools.
