It was an up and down weekend for girls soccer.

On Friday the Columbia Falls girls rocked Lockwood 10-0 as Maddie Robison broke the state A record for career assists with 48.

Robison also recorded a hat trick against Lockwood, which is one of the newest class A schools in the state.

The lady Wildcats were up 8-0 at the break.

But against Laurel Saturday, the girls had a much tougher time. They were knotted up 0-0 at the break, but the Lady Locomotives scored four unanswered goals in the second half for the win.

The Cats had some good looks, but the shots didn’t find the mark. Laurel outshot Columbia Falls 18-9 in a physical game that saw 14 fouls by the Cats and 12 by Laurel.

Both games were at home.

The conference season starts Thursday as the girls face off against Bigfork at 5 p.m. at home. They then travel to Stevensville and face Whitefish next Tuesday at home at 5 p.m.
