Man charged with rape at assisted living center

A Flathead Valley man faces a charge of sexual intercourse without consent for allegedly raping a woman at a Columbia Falls assisted living facility.

According to court documents, James Frederick McLeod, 62, allegedly committed sexual intercourse without consent with at the facility with his hand on Oct. 21. The woman was developmentally disabled.

McLeod was an employee at the facility.

He was charged after being interviewed by Columbia Falls Police and allegedly admitting to the crime.

If convicted, he faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. McLeod is being held in the Flathead County Detention Center, pending further court appearances.
