Fatal House Fire on Hodgson Road
Firefighters from Columbia Falls and a host of other companies were on the scene of a massive house fire on Hodgson Road at this hour.
The fire broke out shortly after 10 a.m. and the two-story structure was fully engulfed.
Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino said the fire is under investigation. It is believed to be an arson, possibly by one of the two people who died in the fire.
Four people reportedly lived in the house — a couple and their elderly parents, according to neighbors.
Neighbors said they could hear screaming and a woman reportedly jumped out of the second story window to escape the blaze.
Hodgson Road near the fire is closed to traffic.
Flathead County Sheriff’s Deputies were on the scene and Montana Highway Patrol has set up a closure on the road.
Columbia Falls saw mutual aid from West Valley, Whitefish, Evergreen and Bad Rock fire departments and medical assistance from Three Rivers Ambulance.
