Cheff champ at state swimming, boys take third

The Columbia Falls swim team came home from the state A swim meet in Polson over the weekend with a third place overall finish for the boys team and a sixth place finish for the girls. The Wildcats were led by Connor Cheff who was the champion of the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:19.32; Adam Schrader who took second in the 500 yard freestyle with 5:38.26; and Emerald Templin who took third in the 500 yard freestyle with 6:04.48 Cheff also took second in the 100 yard breaststroke with 1:10.04. Thane Borgen took third in the 200 yard IM with 2:30.93. Peyton Malmberg took third in the 100 yard breaststroke with 1:10.67 and fourth in the 50 yard freestyle with 24.97. Johnathan Blankenship took sixth in the 500 yard freestyle with 7:10.26 and ninth in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:24.28.

The boys A relay team took second in the 200 yard freestyle relay with 1:38.25 and the girls A relay team took fourth in the 200 yard medley relay with 2:12.40, fifth in the 400 yard freestyle

relay with 4:55.96 and sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay with 2:00.17.

For the girls Eloise McKeon took fifth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:19.09 and seventh in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:17.36. Norah Bagley took fifth in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:15.63 and eighth in 200 yard freestyle with 2:30.24. Templin also took fifth in the 200 yard IM with 2:35.24.

Kaylee King took sixth in the 50 yard freestyle with 28.56 and in the 100 yard freestyle with 1:03.22. Jolie Friar took ninth in the 200 yard IM with 3:04.94 and 12th in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:26.56. Emma Stoddard took 13th in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:28.59 and 15th in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:23.37. Gabbie Leonhardt took 14th in the 100 yard freestyle with 1:15.67 and 16th in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:49.72. Evalyn Hull took 16th in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:23.81.
