Templin, Schrader lead swim team at home meet

The Wildcats stacked up well at the Cat-Dog Invitational Swim Meet at The Wave Aquatic and Fitness Center in Whitefish on Saturday, which included competition against class AA teams.

The Columbia Falls boys team took second overall with a score of 190, and the Columbia Falls girls team finished fourth with a score of 181.

Sophomore Adam Schrader and senior Emerald Templin led the team by taking second places in the boys 500 yard freestyle with 5:49.68 and the girls 200 yard IM with 2:39.9, respectively.

For the girls, Emilie Alexander took 33rd in the 50 yard freestyle with 44.95. Norah Bagley took fourth in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:15.84, and ninth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:36.10. Jolie Friar took fifth in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:35.23, and seventh in the 200 yard IM with 3:12.82.

Evalyn Hull took tenth in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:25.29, and fourteenth in the 100 yard breaststroke with 2:03.17.

Kathleen Keith took fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke with 1:23.88, and eleventh in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:44.29. Kaylee King took seventh in the 100 yard freestyle with 1:04.57, and ninth in the 50 yard freestyle with 29.27. Gabbie Leonhardt took thirteenth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:54.01, and seventeenth in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:33.54. Eloise McKeon took eighth in the 100 yard freestyle with 1:04.91. Emma Stoddard took eighth in the 500 yard freestyle with 7:59.09, and fifteenth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:57.85. Templin took second in the 200 yard IM with 2:39.95, and fourth in the 500 yard freestyle with 6:19.66.

Madison Ypma took ninth in the 500 yard freestyle with 8:17.08, and thirteenth in the 100 yard breaststroke with 2:01.51.

For the boys, Johnathan Blankenship took seventh in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:28.73, and seventh in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:45.73.

Thane Borgen took third in the 200 yard IM with 2:39.75, and sixth in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:19.78.

Connor Cheff took third in the 100 yard breaststroke with 1:09.61, and fourth in the 100 yard butterfly with 1:05.58. Quinn Clark took seventh in the 50 yard freestyle with 32.45, and ninth in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:42.19.

Peyton Malmberg took fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke with 1:12.41, and fifth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:14.85. Jack Phung took eighth in the 100 yard backstroke with 1:31.60, and eighth in the 100 yard freestyle with 1:09.39.

The boys A relay team took second in the 200 yard medley with 1:56.02, and fifth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:02.51.

The girls A relay team took fifth in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:02.99, and fifth in the 200 yard medley with 2:16.32. The girls B relay team took eleventh in the 200 yard freestyle with 2:31.15.

The Wildcats go on the road to compete next in Havre on Saturday.
