Freedom Bank looking for community’s Hometown Heroes
Freedom Bank is partnering with the Hungry Horse News to recognize some of our “hometown heroes.”
The idea is to showcase people doing good work in the community, said Freedom Bank president Don Bennett.
“People are doing awesome stuff,” Bennett said. “They’re doing it for the passion, not the recognition.”
He said the hope is to bring the community closer together, both with folks who have lived here awhile and with newcomers. He said it’s also a good way to heal some of the divisiveness we’ve been seeing nationwide.
“How do you fix that?” he said. “It starts at the dinner table … c’mon, let’s all work together.”
Folks can nominate a hero and then the public will vote on the nominations through an online portal.
Selected heroes will receive a $500 donation to the charity of their choice and the person who does the winning nomination will receive $50.
The heroes will also be featured in the Hungry Horse News with a short biography.
