The Columbia Falls girls basketball team capped off its regular season undefeated at 16-0 as they dropped Ronan 56-38 on the road in the last game of the year Thursday.

No stats were available. The Wildkats were also supposed to play Stevensville last Tuesday, but that game was canceled.

The Kats defense has been the key to their success this year. They have allowed just one team — Bigfork— to score more than 50 points so far and they score a lot of points in transition from opponents’ turnovers.

The girls will face Frenchtown Thursday at the Maroon Activities Center in Butte Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Western A divisional tourney.

If they get past the Lady Broncs, they’ll likely face Dillon, the team that knocked them out of the tourney last year.

Dillon is 9-6 on the year. Butte Central is the top seed from the Southwest at 11-4. They will, however, have home court advantage.
