CFAC virtual meeting Thursday
Folks interested in the continued work at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Co. Superfund site can get a project update and hear about the draft feasibility study at an online meeting this week.
On Feb. 11 (Thursday) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the CFAC community liaison panel will hold a virtual meeting.
The meeting includes folks from the community, the company, the state Department of Environmental Quality and the Environmental Protection Agency.
The agenda will also include an update on the cleanup of settling ponds adjacent to the Flathead River and the introduction of Ken Champagne as the new project manager. Champagne is taking over oversight of the project for the EPA from Mike Cirian, who is retiring.
A draft feasibility study was completed by CFAC in October and has been under review by the EPA and the state Department of Environmental Quality.
The final feasibility study should be completed this spring and available for public comment. The feasibility study determines best alternatives for cleaning up the site.
The meeting will be a Microsoft team meeting. To receive a link or phone number contact Mary Green at 304-932-7673 or email mgreen@magc.info
