The Columbia Falls girls basketball team extended their winning streak to nine games last week, dropping Frenchtown on the road, 43-34.

It was the only game the varsity team had on the schedule.

Hannah Schweikert led the Wildkats with 21, Maddie Robison had eight. Schweikert scored 13 points in the third.

“Offensively we struggled all game,” coach Cary Finberg said. The Kats were 6-for-27 in the first half and 8-for-25 in the second. They did get to the line 14 times in the second half, however.

Mady Hoerner had nine rebounds, as did Schweikert. Robison had seven steals.

The Kats were down 19-15 at the break, but outscored the Lady Broncs 17-8 in the fourth.

The Kats have a full schedule this week. They play Polson at home Thursday, then rival Whitefish on the road Friday and Libby on the road Saturday.

The Kats edged Whitefish by just one point earlier this season, so it promises to be a good game.

Polson is winless and Libby has won just one win this season.
