Both Columbia Falls hoops squads get past Pirates
Hungry Horse News
The Columbia Falls basketball teams nabbed a pair of wins last week.
The girls beat Polson at home 58-41, pulling away in the second half after a tough first half of shooting.
The Wildkats forced 20 Polson turnovers in the first half alone and made it to the line 22 times as well, but it was like a lid was on the basket — the shots just didn’t drop.
Polson is a much better team than they have been in past years and played pretty well in the first half.
The Kats were led by Hope McAtee, who had 17 points.
Maddie Robison had nine and Grace Gedlaman had five. Robison had three fouls in the first half, which limited her playing time.
On the boys’ side, the Wildcats beat Polson, 67-60.
Jace Hill had 22 to lead the Cats followed by Cody Schweikert with 18 as the boys got a key conference win on the road.
Both teams have the week off for the Christmas break.
