Girls drop Eureka, but lose to rivals Browning, Bigfork

The Columbia Falls girls basketball team dropped Eureka at home Tuesday 58-37, but lost to Browning on the road, 50-49 in their first conference game of the season.

The Wildkats were up 22-16 at the break, but the Lady Indians tied it 34-34 at the end of the third.

Maddie Robison had 19 and Grace Gedlaman had 10 to pace the Cats in their first loss of the season.

Against Eureka, they roared out of the gates in the third, outscoring the Lady Lions 18-3 in the stanza to pull away. Robison had 14 and Hope McAtee 11 in the win.

On Monday they faced Bigfork at home and lost 55-31. The Kats had just 16 points in the first half.They would cut Bigfork’s lead to seven at the end of the third, but had just one bucket in the fourth as Bigfork outscored them 16-2.

McAtee led the Kats with 14 points.

On Thursday, they’ll square off against Polson at home. Game time is 7:15 p.m. It’s also Hall of Fame night, where the inductees will be recognized at halftime.
