Wreaths ceremony coming up

| December 10, 2021 6:15 AM

The annual Wreaths Across America celebration at the Montana Veterans’ Home cemetery on Talbott Road is Saturday, Dec. 18 starting at 10 a.m. The entire ceremony will occur outside at the cemetery. Because of the generosity of the community, they have achieved their goal of having a wreath for every grave at the cemetery this year. Donations that arrived throughout this year have given them 862 wreaths.

Students will place memorial wreaths as part of our goal to teach the next generation about the sacrifices and role of our military.

The Columbia Falls High School Sonifers will sing the National Anthem and a couple of other songs. Bugler Dana Scranton will perform taps. Chaplain this year is pastor Shawn Osborne, a veteran who was also the Chaplain for the Navy Seals. There will also have a special presentation of the USS Montana submarine Ship’s Bell.
