Man claimed he was victim of a loan scam. Reckless driver reported heading into town on Highway 2. Dog bit a person on Diane Road. Possible fight on 13th Street.
Aug. 17
Someone painted graffiti on a cell tower and the owner was told it had to be removed. Shoplifter on Highway 2. Police stopped a truck that almost hit a guardrail. Football players icing legs in the river were told they were trespassing.
Aug. 18
Fence dispute on Fourth Avenue. A woman allegedly stole a cart full of groceries. A father allegedly struck his a daughter with a belt and slapped her in the face. Police informed him that may be child abuse. Suicide threat reported.
Aug. 19
Report of kids knocking on doors and then running. Report of a guy trying to fight everyone. Someone was upset because a bouncer snapped their ID in half from South Carolina. Turned out the ID was real, not fake. The band playing on Nucleus had too much bass and the caller wanted it turned down.
Aug. 20
Bicycle stolen on Bills Lane. A man who met a woman online called police after she wanted $8,000 to leave his house. He wanted to know his options for getting rid of her. A woman called police after the date she was on became verbally abusive.
Aug. 21
A family dispute rose to the level of calling police after family photos were removed from a house. Someone stole a fuel tank out of a boat. A person wanted to know if it was OK to park overnight on 13th St. Report of a stalker at grocery store. Report of dogs attacking goats at the Veterans Home garden. The dogs were gone, but the goats were wounded, but alive.
Aug. 22
Two planks were missing from a fence, prompting a call to police. An alarm was going off on Third Street and no one around to shut it off. The dogs that allegedly attacked the goats the Montana Veterans Home returned and were caught and handed over to police and were being held at the county animal shelter.
