Glacier National Park plow crews are now about 4 miles from Logan Pass on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, having pioneered to Grouse Point on the west side of the divide this week.

East side crews have also started to plow the Sun Road and were near Dead Horse Point.

When crews are working, hikers and bikers can go as far as the Loop on the west side and Wild Goose Island overlook on the east side.

The Sun Road remains closed to vehicles beyond Lake McDonald Lodge on the wests side and Rising Sun on the east side.

Crews were also going to do more snow clearing in the Two Medicine Valley this coming week, though the Hungry Horse News went into Two Medicine last weekend and the road was already plowed beyond Running Eagle Falls.

It was clear of snow and ice a week ago, though more snow has fallen since.

Crews have cleared the Many Glacier Valley and campground of snow, but the area remains closed due to road construction until May 28.

The Camas, Quarter Circle and Chief Mountain roads are open to vehicles as well.

This weekend is expected to be wet and cold, with rain at lower elevations and snow in the higher terrain above 4,500 feet.

The east side of the divide is expected to see heavy snow Saturday night, the National Weather Service is forecasting.
