Montana Veterans’ Home will see Covid relief funding

A Covid-19 relief package that was passed in the waning days of the Trump Administration will mean about $403,000 in funding for the Montana Veterans’ Home in Columbia Falls.
But how the funds will be used hasn’t been fully realized yet.
“The facility is currently in the process of identifying how to best use the funding,” Joren Underdahl, administrator of the facility said last week.
The funding announcement came from Sen. Jon Tester’s office last week.
The Eastern Montana Veterans’ Home in Glendive received about $213,000.
The Veterans’ Home in Columbia Falls was locked down for months due to the pandemic.
“Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, folks living in long-term care facilities—like those in the Glendive and Columbia Falls Veterans’ Homes—have been some of the most vulnerable, and it’s critical that we get these providers the resources they need to protect the Montana veterans living there,” said Tester. “Since the beginning of this pandemic, I’ve been fighting to secure funding to help these veterans homes prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus, and I’m proud to have helped get this money out the door to ensure we’re keeping those who bravely served our country safe.”
