Columbia Falls School District 6 continues to deal with coronavirus cases, though there doesn’t appear to be any spread inside the schools themselves.

At the high school there’s been two new cases and 14 close contacts that have been quarantined since late last week.

At the three other schools there has been one case at each school. Glacier Gateway has currently has nine people quarantined. The two other schools don't have any.

The three cases outside of the high school have all been out of school since Sept. 18, as family kept them from going to school.

“In talking with county health, there is no evidence of spread within the schools, so our mitigation efforts appear to be working,” superintendent Dave Wick said in an email over the weekend.

The school requires all students wear masks, clean their hands frequently and visitors have to go through a health screening before entering buildings.

Flathead High School made headlines last week, as it had 17 students and three staff members test positive.

Columbia Falls schools continue to run as usual, Wick noted in a letter to parents.

Flathead County currently has at least 406 active cases, the second most in the state.
