Girls soccer: Wildkats drop Bigfork

The Wildkat girls soccer team came back from last week’s loss against Whitefish with a strong 5-1 win against Bigfork Tuesday evening at home.

The team was again led offensively by Maddie Robison who scored the first and third goals and also contributed two assists, bolstered by freshman Hope McAtee who scored the second and fourth goals.

The score was 2-0 at halftime. Robison and McAtee brought it to 4-0 midway through the second half and sophomore Sydney Mann brought in the Kats’ final goal with two minutes left in the game before Bigfork snuck in a goal at the last second.

The team showcased a broad range of players during the game who fluidly covered all positions of the field when needed, noted head coach Thomas Clark.

“Every single person on our team was in the game and made an impact,” said Clark. “We have a really deep bench, which makes it hard for me as a coach to make decisions on who’s going to play and who’s going to start, week in and week out, and that’s a good problem to have. For us to be able to play six players off the bench was really cool and I think every single one of those players came in and provided a spark.”

The Kats play Libby next on the Loggers’ field this Saturday.
