The Columbia Falls football team won’t be traveling to Butte this Friday to play Butte Central. The game has been canceled because Central doesn’t have enough players to field a team.

The game is considered a “no contest” and thus a win for the Wildcats.

The Wildcats still need some help to make the playoffs. Dillon must beat Whitefish and Frenchtown must beat Libby. The Beavers are second in the division. If Whitefish wins, they would get the playoff spot because the hold the tiebreak over the Wildcats.

If Columbia Falls makes the playoffs, they would play the No. 1 team in the east — Miles City — on the road. If the Cats win, they would host a semifinal playoff game at home.
