Wildcat boys soccer beat the Libby Loggers 8-0 during senior recognition night on Tuesday.

The night was a celebration of the team’s five seniors, defender Tyler Hull, midfielder Jason Albin, midfielder Johnny Carl, midfielder Niels Getts and midfielder Winslow Nichols, each of whom was able to score a goal on their last regular season home game of their careers.

Kai Golan, Carl, Getts, and Hull brought the score to 5-0 at halftime and Winslow and Albin were able to bring it to the final score in the second half.

Head coach O’Brien Byrd emphasized the impact this year’s seniors have had on Cat soccer, giving them, “a big appreciation for the four years of dedication to our program, we love them dearly and they really set an example for the rest of the guys in the coming years.”

The Cats earned another win, 4-1, on Saturday against Bigfork to wrap up the regular season, securing a second place finish in the north conference and bringing their record to 9-1-1.

The Cats now face Frenchtown on the road Saturday at 1 p.m. The boys beat the Broncs earlier this year.
