Jack Pletcher, 80

Jack Pletcher passed away at his home surrounded by family in the early morning hours of Friday, April 3rd, 2020.

Jack was born in 1939 to Dale and Nancy Pletcher in Barnsville, Minnesota. He was born the youngest of his six siblings. Jack spent his entire youth in Barnsville and after graduation he spent a short time in the Army in 1964.

Jack met Fran Czapiewski in Grafton, North Dakota and they were inseparable from that moment on. Jack and Fran married in 1966 and celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in November. They welcomed their son, David, in 1969. A job with the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant brought them to Montana where they made their home until the day of his passing. In 1971 they welcomed their daughter, Stacey.

Jack also worked for Plum Creek Fiberboard Plant and Udelhoven in Alaska until running the family business, Pletch Electric, alongside his son for the next 21 years.

Jack treasured every one of his grandchildren and he rarely ever missed their sporting events. He quietly watched them excel until one of them scored and then you could hear him say “yes” with a fist bump in the air. Happy Fathers Day, we love and miss you.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Nancy and his two sisters, Nellie and Faye.

He is survived by his loving wife, Fran, his son David (Anita), his daughter Stacey (Billy), his five grandchildren, Tanner (Kassy), Kodi (Jordan), Tucker, Zack and Tori; and two great grandchildren, Noah and Adison. He is also survived by his brothers Dean (Betty), Freeland (Lorraine), Glenn (Sandy), Lloyd (Delores) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. At the conclusion of the service a celebration of life will follow at 760 Trap Road, Columbia Falls.
