Pursuit, the company that operates the restaurant in West Glacier proper as well as stores and cabin rentals in Apgar, confirmed that it did have some employees that tested positive for coronavirus, but they have since recovered and posed no threat to guests or the community.

"With the escalating situation surrounding COVID-19 in Montana, we did have staff members in West Glacier and Apgar Village test positive for the virus. These positive cases stemmed from an external social event after work hours," said Pursuit spokeswoman Tanya Otis. "These individuals were quarantined immediately and all staff who may have been in close contact self-isolated and received testing. We worked closely with (Flathead) County Health to manage contract tracing and there was no area of concern surrounding guests."

She said the individuals have since made a full recovery.

Flathead County as of Thursday had 96 active cases.

Statewide, there are 1,519 active cases. It added 138 new cases Thursday.

Yellowstone county leads the state with 568 cases, while Bighorn County has 188.

Statewide, there are 69 people hospitalized and since March, 55 have died of the disease.
