An Idaho man who had gone missing in Glacier National Park was found dead early Wednesday afternoon in the Hidden Meadow area south of Polebridge.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, 77-year-old George Calvin Adams, of Pocatello, was last seen on the morning of Friday, June 26.

His vehicle was later located on Monday off the Inside North Fork Road in the Park. Glacier National Park rangers, Flathead Sheriff’s Deputies, Flathead and North Valley search and rescue teams and the Two Bear Air helicopter were all involved in the search.

Adams reportedly was on a hike. The trail to Hidden Meadow is a short one that goes to a small pond, but is heavily forested en route.

Two Bear discovered and recovered Adams. The cause of death is currently unknown, said Park spokeswoman Gina Kerzman, though an animal attack is not suspected.

Adams is listed as an instructor of music at Idaho State University School of Performing Arts on its website.
