The Columbia Falls boys basketball team lost to Browning on the road Saturday, 85-49.

The boys had another tough game putting points on the board and taking care of the ball.

“Our Achilles heel is our inability to take care of the ball and we didn’t shoot very well,” said coach Chris Finberg.

The Wildcats simply had too many turnovers. Meanwhile, Browning hit 14 threes in the contest — and a lot of those came in Browning’s transition game, Finberg noted.

The Indians shot out to a 22-10 lead after the first stanza and were up 37-21 at the half. They scored 29 in the third to put the game away.

The Cats were led by Allec Knapton and Dillon Shipp — they both had 12 points apiece.

The boys played Flathead at home Tuesday after presstime. They face Hamilton at home Saturday.

There is a brighter future ahead for the program. The junior varsity boys are now 6-2 on the year, with losses to Glacier and Libby on the road.

The varsity squad is 1-7 overall.
