LaKia Hill drives to the basket against Libby last week.

The Columbia Falls girls basketball team easily beat conference foes Libby and Polson last week, dropping the Lady Loggers at home 62-18 Thursday and the Lady Pirates on the road Saturday 61-28.

The girls are now 7-0 on the season.

The Wildkats had a balanced attack in both games, with LaKia Hill dropping 11 against Libby while Maddie Robison and Madysen Hoerner chipped in 10 apiece.

Against Polson, Hill and Hannah Schweikert had 16, Robison had 14 and Josie Windauer had 11.

Coach Cary Finberg said he was pleased with the offensive performances in both games, but the defense needed some improvement. He noted that Polson outrebounded the Kats.

“They played well in stretches,” he said. “I saw some good things. I saw some not-so-good things.”

The girls will see tougher competition in the coming weeks. They face Browning at home Thursday at 6 p.m. and AA Flathead next Tuesday at home as well.
