MatCats edge Blue Devils in home dual
The Columbia Falls wrestling team had its first home dual of the season, edging Corvallis 36-27 in head-to-head matches Tuesday.
The Cats added 12 more points with forfeits at heavyweight and 205.
It was a dual that was marked by the number of falls — every match was a fall except for one.
MatCat Justin Windauer pinned Jonathan Williams at 113; Kanyon Stoker of Corvallis edged Orion Barta 4-2 at 120; Jason Davis of Corvallis pinned Zack Gray at 125; James Wissenbach of Corvallis pinned Ty Allen at 132; Nate Davis of Corvallis pinned Colton Hogan at 138; Triston Davis of Corvallis pinned Trey Torpen at 145; Lucas Thacker of Columbia Falls pinned Ethan Chavez at 162; Jordan Knapton of Columbia Falls pinned Liam Sutherland at 160; Josh Bertram of Columbia Falls pinned Derrick Weisewaver at 170; DJ Layock of Columbia Falls pinned Bryce Weidow at 182 and in the final match of the night, Dale Blickhan of Columbia Falls pinned Kiera Davis with 23 seconds left in the match in a come-from-behind win.
The MatCats are home again next Tuesday against Glacier for senior night.
