A woman was picked up on a warrant for careless driving. Domestic dispute on Gordon Avenue. Report of drunk driver looking for directions on Riparian Drive. Woman hit a dog on Highway 2. Lots of fireworks complaints. Woman threw stuff and hit male during domestic dispute.

Jan. 1

Report of storage unit break-in. A 9-year-old called to complain that they were being abused by relatives. Two boys said they were going to jump another kid. Report of someone snooping around in a house on 11th Avenue, but dogs scared them off. Chimney fire on 10th Avenue. House was OK, but lots of smoke.

Jan. 2

Report of a blue heeler that is “always loose” on 6th Street. Concerns about loud noises coming from either Plum Creek, Smart Lam or Wood Tech until late at night and early in the morning. Parents of 9-year-old reported their child may have been abused one month ago. Report of a 22-year-old mentally and physically disabled female being sexually assaulted by a 52-year-old male.

Jan. 3

Two men wanted by police jumped from a vehicle and fled in Hungry Horse. Both men were later taken into custody. Columbia Falls woman reported to be writing fraudulent checks on her deceased father’s account. Male in a red Mazda stole a $3 bag of candy from a Columbia Falls store. A lost dog was found on Tamarack Lane and returned to its owner. Dog in Columbia Falls was stolen, returned, stolen again and once again returned to its owner.

Jan. 4.

Caller advised of a pickup parked outside a local business with someone throwing objects into it from the second story window. Turned out it was the store owner’s nephew, who lived upstairs, moving some personal items. Report of four missing alpacas on Trumbull Lane. Drag marks led into nearby woods. Report of snowmobiles racing through the streets of Hungry Horse at 60 mph, despite there being no snow.

Jan. 5

Caller reported to be following a vehicle without a license plate and said “this will wind up of Facebook” before hanging up. Martin City caller complained of their neighbor’s use of noisy generators.
