Cats fall to Bigfork, 47-29
The Columbia Falls boys basketball team lost to Class B Bigfork on the road Friday, 47-29.
The Cats had a tough time finding the basket as they were down 8-2 after the first quarter and 15-11 at the half.
Coach Chris Finberg said they had 20 turnovers and shot just 24 percent from the field.
“You won’t be winning many games when you do those two things,” he said.
Finberg said on the plus side, if one looks at the stats, both teams had about the same number of turnovers, but Bigfork shot about 50 percent, including 8-for-15 from beyond the arc.
“We couldn’t overcome that,” he said.
The good news is the Cats haven’t played a conference game yet and have time to improve.
They face conference rival Libby away Friday and Polson at home Saturday.
Libby is 4-1. Polson is 2-4. The Polson game is the first home game of the season for the Cats.
Gametime is 4 p.m.
