This month’s Canyon Community Dinner is Thursday, Jan. 30, between 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Canyon Elementary School. The menu is Louisiana stir-fry over pasta, fruit salad and a roll. Columbia Falls Toastmasters’ evening meeting is this Thursday, Jan. 30, from 6:45-8 p.m. at Freedom Bank. Learn how the Toastmasters program works to teach effective communication and leadership skills. Public and guests are always welcome. For more information contact Kristi at 406-871-7999.

Northwest Montana Nature Photographers are meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Red Lion Motor Inn in Kalispell in ballroom B. This meeting features world-renowned photographer Keith Taylor who will present his photographs from around the world and give insight on how they were taken. Everyone is welcome; we look forward to seeing you there.

The Flathead Audubon Society will feature an opportunity to see live raptors and speaker Nicole Nelson of Montana Wild Wings Recover Center on Monday, Feb. 10, from 7-9 p.m. at the Gateway West Community Meeting Room in Kalispell. Nelson will present on birds of prey and the work done by MWWRC. The event is free and open to the public.

In a story on the school bond in last week’s edition, it should have said the initial projection for an annual tax increase on a $200,000 home was $200 a year, not a month.
