Speaker Series
The three-part 2020 Wilderness Speaker Series brings the public timely and interesting wilderness topics the first Wednesday of Feb., March, and April, from 7-8:15 p.m. at FVCC’s Large Community Room in the Arts & Technology Building. There is no charge and all are welcome.
February 5: Exploring Wilderness within National Parks

March 4: Wildlife in the Whitefish Range

Metals class
A metals fabrication class meet Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Columbia Falls High School metal shop, Feb. 11, 18, 25, March 3, 10, 17, 31 and April 7 & 14. Cost is $120. Sign ups and payments may be made at the Columbia Falls High School office before the first class. Instructor is Rod Cogliati. If you have any questions you may call the High School at 892-6501.
Chamber meets
The Columbia Falls Chamber of Commerce meeting is 11:45 a.m. Feb. 11 at Cedar Creek Lodge. Presentation is by Laura Gardner, manager at the Job Service Kalispell.
Ribbon cutting
Join the Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce at Swan Mountain Snowmobiling on Tuesday, Feb. 28 from 5:30-7 p.m. for a ribbon cutting ceremony at its monthly business after hours. Swan Mountain is located at 680 Railroad Street, Columbia Falls.
N. Fork Interlocal
The next Interlocal meeting will be held from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Flathead National Forest Three Forks mtg rm, 650 Wolfpack Way, in Kalispell.
Senior cards
Evelyn Laber was the top Pinochle player at the North Valley Senior Citizens Center on Jan. 27 with 6,930. Mary Lance was second with 6,890. Louann Mohn was third with 6,790. Cheryl Kinyon and Jean Voermans melded a round robin. Jane Beranek and Allan Wall melded 300 pinochle. Evelyn Laber and Joe Voermans melded 1500 trump. Andy Koch won the door prize.
In cribbage on Jan. 15, Sheila Bryan and John Beranek tied for the high score with 668 points. Joe Voermans and John Beranek had the high hands at 24. JoeVoermans had the high crib at 12.
In cribbage on Jan. 22, Marlene Barge had the high score with 681 points. John Beranek was second with 644 points. Marlene Barge had the high hand at 24. Allan Wall had the high crib at 15.
