Columbia Falls High School fall sports saw two of its coaches named “Coach of the Year” by the Montana Coaches Association earlier this month.

Head coaches O’Brien Byrd and Jim Peacock were awarded the title for boys class A soccer, and girls class A cross country, respectively.

Byrd, varsity boys head coach, brought Wildcat soccer to this year’s championship where the team took second place and finished the season with an 11-2-1 overall record.

Peacock, head coach for the Wildcat cross country program, guided the girls team to a second place finish at this year’s state meet after having five runners place in the top 25.

In related news, Columbia Falls graduate Brendan Byrd, brother to O’Brien Byrd and coach of the Glacier High School girls varsity soccer team, won the award for girls class AA soccer.
