Blotter: Christmas presents stolen from back of vehicle

Dec. 14

Reports of a mother abusing her juvenile son. An MIP was issued for a juvenile with tobacco. A mother wondered if the police could give a talk to “scare” her 6-year -old daughter, who was beginning to steal things, into stopping. A man wanted to report a “nut case” spouting conspiracy theories on Nucleus Avenue. A lost blind terrier was found.

Dec. 15

Someone’s vehicle showed signs of being rummaged through in the middle of the night, although nothing appeared to be missing. A man wanted follow up on a reported theft. Someone had a family member from Los Angeles on the line who was voicing suicidal intent. A vehicle was left abandoned with its door open; a passerby closed it. A man was playing Pokemon GO in a park after hours.

Dec. 16

A “No Trespassing” sign, post and all, was stolen from a property. Christmas presents were stolen from the back of someone’s vehicle. A noise complaint was made for a vehicle playing loud music. Someone heard shots fired while walking in Pinewood Park. The footprints of two juveniles who had stolen alcohol from a Town Pump were tracked until they were no longer visible. Two suspects attempting to break into a store were caught in the back alleyway; one had hurt his ankle and required an ambulance.

Dec. 17

A juvenile female was charged with theft. Someone’s truck was broken into. An unruly student was released to a family member. Someone was being harassed by an ex-boyfriend. A vehicle that broke down on Nucleus Avenue was causing traffic issues. Reports of a driver drinking and speeding through Columbia Falls. A man walking around town with puppies in a shopping cart was attempting to sell them for $250 each. A landlord threatened to change the locks on a tenant if they refused to move out.

Dec. 18

A juvenile male was sent to stay with his grandparents after reports of parental abuse. A woman dropped off Toys for Tots donations at the police station. The Eagles Club was prevented from closing for the night after several intoxicated patrons refused to leave. Reports of a near drug overdose.

Dec. 19

Reports of an altercation between a dad and an uncle. Reports of a man abusing a puppy inside a bar.

Dec. 20

The front door of a vacant house was noted to be open all night long. Two 4-and 5-year-old girls were seen crying and walking alone in their pajamas, trying to find their daycare center. Reports of a driver possibly on drugs. A blond juvenile male was seen mooning passing trains.
