Nancy (Mellet) Tesmer

Nancy (Mellet) Tesmer, 83, with her family by her side, died a natural death on Nov. 23, 2020. She was born Feb. 3, 1937 in Chinook, Montana. She was the second child of Mick and Adelia (Brandon) Mellett.

Nancy, her brother Micky and her parents moved to Whitefish, Montana in 1941.

She was raised and educated in Flathead Valley. Her parents moved to West Glacier, Montana in 1953.

Nancy was employed in the Glacier National Park village of Apgar when she caught the eye of Claude Tesmer.

Nancy and Claude married and began their family at GNP Headquarters where Claude was employed with the National  Park Service. Claude would later retire with 38 years of service.

The family moved to the community of  Columbia Falls in 1974 where all of their six children earned their high school diplomas.

Nancy was certified in Reflexology with many testimonies of healing people with her strong, loving hands.

After her husband Claude’s death in 1996, she immersed herself in genealogy along with her continued callings with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Nancy had a special place in her heart for disadvantaged people and dedicated her life to helping others. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Her family always came first and everyone was family. She spent more than 13 of her latter years faithfully assisting the residence at Greenwood Village Assisted Living, in Kalispell until its transformation into Greenwood Inn and Suites.

Greenwood Village RV Park is also the community that Nancy loved and lived in for those 13 years. She brought forth many special friends in those years.

She moved back to Columbia Falls in 2019, to the loving and caring arms of Timber Creek Village, an assisted living home. Again, along with her family, Nancy offered and received affection from those around her at Timber Creek until her last day on Earth.

Mom has one great-great-grandchild, 15 great-grandchildren and 12 grandchildren who were all very special to her. She is also survived by her six daughters, Cheri (Ron) Crow, Cheli Tesmer, Claudena (Larry) Finstad, Anita (Charlie) Ellman, Joelle (Ben) Forman, Sandee Tesmer.

Preceding Nancy’s death was the death of her parents, Mick and Adelia Mellett, her bother Micky Mellett and her husband Claude Tesmer.

A private viewing and graveside services were held on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 where she was laid to rest next to her husband Claude in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.

The family of Nancy Tesmer would like to thank all of the caregivers and friends at Timber Creek Assisted Living in Columbia Falls who earned our trust for Mom’s care through hard work and their nurturing ways. Mom was also fortunate to experience love and caring from Frontier Hospice during the last days of her life. Those days will be cherished forever.  Columbia Mortuary is caring for the family.
