Power pole fire knocks out power in Columbia Falls
About 2,000 Columbia Falls residents were out of power Friday from just before noon to 2 p.m. after a power pole caught on fire and broke in two. The cause is under investigation, Flathead Electric Co-op spokeswoman Wendy Ostrom-Price said. FEC crews had to shut the power off so Columbia Falls firefighters could put the pole on 12th Avenue West out.
