Girls youth hoops

Girls youth basketball registration or grades 1 through 6 is now open at www.cfmtschools.netthrough Sept. 19. Varsity Coach Cary Finberg will kick off the season with an informational meeting. Interested coaches and referees can contact Karla Milhollen at the School District 6 offices at 892-6550, extension 1421.

Firefighters ball

The Coram-West Glacier Fire Department is having its 45th annual firefighters ball to raise money for the new fire hall in Coram at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Dew Drop Inn in Coram. Ball features the Don Lawrence Orchestra.

Women meet

Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will have a luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Room in Columbia Falls. Guest speaker Janis Price will do a presentation on the “Power of Personality.” Donations of nonperishable food items will be collected for the Columbia Falls Food Bank. Cost is $8 and all women are welcome to attend. For reservations call Candy at 387-4119 or Janet at 892-3621 by 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 16. Affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries.

Metals class

Take an introduction to metals class at Columbia Falls High School. Safely learn basic oxyacetylene processes- brazing, welding, cutting, electric arc welding processes- shielded arc (stick) and metal inert gas (mig or wire feed). Other metal working procedures done per student interest. Classes will meet on Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the high school metal shop, Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, Nov. 7, 14, 21 and Dec. 5 and 12. Cost is $120. Sign ups and payments may be made at Columbia Falls High School office before the first class. Instructor is Rod Cogliati. If you have any questions you may call the High School at 892-6501.

Open house

The Columbia Falls High School will have an open house to showcase its new pole barn and school-to-park program where students will build cabins for Glacier National Park. The event is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the southwest side of the school Sept. 23.

Community Market

This Thursday the Community Market at the Coop features music by Hallady Quist, beer by Backslope Brewing and the spirits of Glacier Distilling. The market runs from 5 p.m. to dark.
