Aug. 27
A woman called to report a possible sexual assault of her daughter that took place earlier this summer. Report of someone trying to break into a vehicle on Second Avenue and then on Fourth Avenue. The perps then ran down an alley.
Aug. 28
Report of a DUI on Highway 2. Turns out the driver was distracted by a car full of kids. A man was upset that cars were parked in front of his house because of an event at school. He threatened to tow them away with a chain. A fight between a man and woman got ugly. She said he hit her, he said she threatened to shoot him. Report of someone trying to break into a car on Second Street. They fled, but left a headlamp behind.
Aug. 29
A dog wouldn’t stop barking on Third Street. Backpack stolen from unlocked vehicle. A dog bit a person on 6th Street. Vehicles gone through, but nothing stolen on 1st Avenue. Pedestrian signs knocked down on Talbott. A cable TV truck hit a Honda CRV at Meadow Lake Blvd. and Highway 2, no injuries, then another crash, also on Highway 2, about 45 minutes later. No injuries, but no one was happy, either. A male on blood thinners was punched in the face, but refused medical treatment. An ex allegedly pushed in the air conditioner and was in his ex’s house when he wasn’t supposed to be.
Aug. 30
A pickup truck jumped the curb, hit a Camaro, a light pole and then some lawnmowers that were on display on at the intersection of Highway 2 and Nucleus Avenue just before 3 p.m.
Aug. 31
A man living in a camper on First Avenue was asked to leave. Report of things stolen near a home on Second Avenue, including a large planting pot. Report of a gun missing from a closet. Report of a male trying to cut himself.
Sept. 1
A couple were having a fight and throwing things out of a car near Coffee Traders. A man was passed out in a yard on Second Avenue. Report of a male strangling a woman near the viaduct.
Sept. 2
A girl ran away from home — the second time this week. Report of a mountain lion near the Columbia Falls RV Park, though no other sightings reported.
