Vets ceremony
The annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Columbia Falls High School is Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Lewis and Clark
Glacier Gateway fourth graders will present “The Adventures of Lewis and Clark” on Friday, Nov. 8 at 1:45 p.m. in the CFHS Little Theater. A complimentary reception for students, parents and guests will follow the afternoon performance.
Fraley talk
On Thursday, Nov, 21, John Fraley will present excerpts from his book, “Rangers, Trappers and Trailblazers.” The event is sponsored by the Columbia Falls Historical Society and will begin at 7 p.m., at the North Valley Community Center on Nucleus Avenue.
Chamber meets
The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly general membership luncheon features the presentation, “Learn about Weyerhaeuser as a company and their impact on the Flathead Valley and Columbia Falls.” by Tim Olson, plant manager at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 12 at the Cedar Creek Lodge.
Goga
The Farming for the Future Academy is now hosting goats with yoga (Goga) classes three times a week, Thursdays 10:30 a.m.-11:15 a.m., Fridays from 7 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Montana Veterans Home Service Building. To sign up, visit www.farmingforthefutureacademyinc.org.
Photo talk
The Northwest Montana Nature Photographers group will feature a presentation by photographer Sumio Harada on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Red Lion Inn in Kalispell. He will be talking about 4k video and capturing stills from 4K. Talk is free and open to the public.
Wreaths for vets
The annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at the Montana Veterans’ Home is Dec. 14 at 10 a.m. Wreath donations are still needed. Each donated wreath costs $15. Donated wreaths are placed on graves of veterans. Those wishing to donate a wreath or wreaths should mail their check payable to Wreaths Across America to Steve Armstrong, 439 Grand Drive, #170, Bigfork, MT 59911. The deadline for wreath donations is Saturday, Nov. 16.
Merc closed
The Polebridge Mercantile and the Northern Lights Saloon are now closed for the season and will reopen next spring.
