Thoughts about school bond

| October 2, 2019 6:54 AM

For those of you that are new to this area in the last 5-8 years, we have a nice school in Hungry Horse that we moved students from and into Columbia Falls due to low numbers in the Columbia Falls schools. Now we are needing more room and we still are maintaining the Hungry Horse School and renting space for community and other events. Why can’t we use this school again? It would be more cost-effective than building a school which will raise our taxes another, for our family, $300 for the next 20 years.

We supported, some years ago, refurbishing Glacier Gateway to bring it up to code and now they say it’s unfit? We are on a fixed income, our taxes went up $300 this year and another $300 would make finances difficult. Plus our city is discussing doing a resort tax. We aren’t another Whitefish nor do I want to be even though I was born and raised there ... we aren’t a rich community.

Please ask a lot of questions before you vote.
