A Columbia Falls woman faces federal drugs charges after an investigation earlier this year by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Carly Deann Halcro, 35, recently pleaded not guilty in federal court on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

According to unsealed portions of Halcro’s indictment, she allegedly had more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and was trying to sell it.

Details in the case are slim — the indictment against her is sealed, though according to an arrest warrant, she was apprehended by federal authorities on Aug. 26 in Clarksville, Tennessee.

If convicted of the most serious crime, Halcro faces a minimum mandatory 10 years to life in prison, a $10 million fine and at least five years of supervised release.

Halcro was released pending further proceedings.
