Wildkat spikers complete perfect district run

The Wildkats volleyball team cruised to a win at home in their final match of the regular season Saturday, sweeping Browning 25-10, 25-17, 25-13 to finish the regular season a perfect 10-0 in Northwest A Conference play.

Kiera Brown had 10 of the Kats’ 32 kills to lead the offense while Madysen Hoerner added eight. Kamber Brown had 21 of the team’s 29 assists while Maddie Stutsman added eight and Angellica Street led in digs with 17 of the team’s 35.

The Kats jumped out to an quick 8-2 lead in the opening set to force an early Browning timeout en route to a 25-10 win.

Columbia Falls took a quick 12-6 lead in the second set, but Browning cut the lead to 12-9. The Kats pushed their lead to 18-10, but the Lady Indians used a 7-4 run to cut the lead to 22-17 and force a Wildkat timeout. The Kats responded with three straight points to finish the second set with a 25-17 victory.

It was all Columbia Falls in the third set as the Kats built an early 12-4 lead. The Kats led 18-13 before McKenna served the final seven points for the win.

The 12-1 Wildkats will open play at the Western A Divisional Tournament in Dillon Thursday as they take on Stevensville at 4 p.m.
