Youth Soccer
The Flathead Rapids soccer program is registering players for the upcoming season. The program runs from April 15 through June 8 and is open to athletes ages 5-12. Registration cost is $50 per player with a 10 percent discount for siblings. There is a $10 charge for jerseys, but jerseys can be reused each season until they wear out. A $10 late fee will be added for those who register after April 1 and $20 after April 7. Registration closes April 11. Free meal
The free Canyon Community Dinner held at Canyon Elementary is Thursday, March 28 and the menu is breakfast for dinner; egg bake surprise, Louann’s special pancakes, mixed fruit and juice. We serve between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.. Any questions please feel free to call Flo 250-3406 or Louann 261-1083.
Free meals
Free meals will be served by Columbia Falls Community Kitchen in the basement of St. Richard’s Catholic Church at 6 p.m. beginning Thursday, March 28 and continuing through Sunday, March 31. The Community Kitchen is non-denominational and not religiously affiliated.
Tourism summit
The Glacier Country Tourism summit, which specializes in tourism marketing for businesses, is 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. at FVCC April 4. Cost is $40. Visit glaciermt.com/summit to see the full schedule, view summit speakers and register.
Chamber lunch
The monthly Columbia Falls Chamber luncheon is April 9 starting at 11:45 a.m. at the North Valley Community Room on Nucleus Avenue. City manager Susan Nicosia is guest speaker.
Creston Auction
The 53rd annual Creston Auction to benefit the Creston Volunteer Firefighters is April 7 and 8. Drop off items from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 6 at the grounds in Creston off Highway 35. Grounds open for general auction April 7 at 7 a.m. with bidding at 9 a.m. Sunday is the RV, Marine and auto equipment sale starting at 11 a.m.
Bird talk
Kathy Ross will be the guest speaker at the Flathead Audubon meeting on Monday, April 8 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gateway West Community Room in Kalispell. Ross will be discussing the research of Dr. Doug Tallamy, Professor of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology, University of Delaware and author of the book “Bringing Nature Home.” The talk is free and open to the public.
Toastmasters
The Columbia Falls Toastmasters meet from noon to 1 p.m. April 2 in the basement of Freedom Bank.
