Bumblebee talk
U.S. Geological Survey Research Ecologist, Tabitha Graves, will talk about her recent efforts to monitor and research pollinators, including the western bumblebee at a meeting of the Flathead Chapter of the Montana Native Plant Society Wednesday, March 20 (today), at 7 p.m. in the North Valley Community Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.
No meeting
Due to scheduling problems, Columbia Falls Historical Society will not meet on March 21 as planned. Next meeting is Thursday, April 18.
Choir concert
The Columbia Falls Community Choir concert is March 23 at 7 p.m. and March 24 at 2 p.m. in the Columbia Falls High School Little Theatre. Singers are from Columbia Falls, Whitefish, Kalispell, Lakeside, Coram, Big Fork, and Olney. Admission is free, but a freewill offering will be taken.
Brews for kids
Backslope Brewing will donate $1 for every pint of beer sold to Farming for the Future Academy, which runs programs for kids and veterans alike at its garden at the Montana Veterans Home from 5 to 8 p.m. March 26.
Gateway tour
There will be a Public Forum held on Wednesday, March 20, at 6 p.m., in the Glacier Gateway multipurpose room, to tour the Glacier Gateway facility and to update the public on the progress of the K-5 Facility Assessment Project.
Tourism summit
The Glacier Country Tourism summit, which specializes in tourism marketing for businesses, is 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. at FVCC April 4. Cost is $40. Visit glaciermt.com/summit to see the full schedule, view summit speakers and register.
Chamber lunch
The monthly Columbia Falls Chamber luncheon is April 9 starting at 11:45 a.m. at the North Valley Community Room on Nucleus Avenue. City manager Susan Nicosia is guest speaker.
Creston Auction
The 53rd annual Creston Auction to benefit the Creston Volunteer Firefighters is April 7 and 8. Drop off items from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 6 at the grounds in Creston off Highway 35. Grounds open for general auction April 7 at 7 a.m. with bidding at 9 a.m. Sunday is the RV, Marine and auto equipment sale starting at 11 a.m.
