Johnson talk
Montana House welcomes guest author, Marc C. Johnson, for a presentation and book reading on Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. Please join us to learn about Marc’s recently published book, “Political Hell-Raiser, The Life and Times of Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana.” After the presentation Johnson will be available to sign copies of his book. This event is free and open to the public. Era of Megafires
The Montana House in Apgar will host a screening of “Era of Megafires” at 6:30 p.m. June 26 (today). Please join us for a very informative 1-hour film to learn more about the threat of wildfire in our community and how citizens learn to work with this new reality. The intent is to provide information to the public about megafires and host a discussion to address local wildfire-related questions.
Community market
The Columbia Falls Community Market will be Thursday night at the Coop starting at 5:30 p.m. Beer by The Brewing Academy of Montana, Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits and music by Luke Lautaret Project and Lou and the Bird-Dogs.
Free meal
The monthly free meal in at Canyon Elementary in Hungry Horse is this Thursday. Menu is buttermilk baked chicken, served with oven baked special potatoes, green beans and a spinach strawberry salad. The dessert is Luann’s famous mandarin cake and ice cream. Everyone is welcome and as always we serve between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Any questions call Luann 261-1083 or Flo 250-3406.
Concert
This week the group Brass Werks will be featured at the Lions Club Concert Series Thursday in Marantette Park. Concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
Musician at Glacier
Musician Ben Cosgrove will be in Glacier Park Thursday, June 27 from noon to 1 p.m. in the West Glacier Community Building, located in the Park Headquarters. Cosgrove has traveled around the country as an artist-in-residence at various national parks and public lands.
Free meals
Free meals will be served by Columbia Falls Community Kitchen in the basement of St. Richard’s Catholic Church at 6 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 27 and continuing through Sunday, June 30. The Community Kitchen is non-denominational and not religiously affiliated.
