Columbia Falls places 45 on spring sports Academic All-State list
Columbia Falls High School recently had 45 athletes named Academic All-State for the fourth quarter of the 2018-19 school year, including 25 with perfect 4.0 grade point averages.
The girls track team had 16 members named Academic All-State after a season in which they finished sixth at the state meet while the boys squad, which finished eighth this season, had 13 members make the list.
Hannah Schweikert, who finished third at the state tennis tournament,was one of nine Columbia Falls tennis players to make the list while All-State selections Trista Cowan and Kaylee Ashe were among the seven softball players named.
To make the list, the student athletes had to maintain a 3.5 grade point average while also lettering in their sport.

Boys Track: James Petersen (4.0), Richard Babcock, Aidan Jarvis (4.0), Aaron Trueblood, Daniel Henjum, Donald Laycock, Logan Bechtel (4.0), Steven Ciraolo (4.0), Tanner Gove, Parker Greene, Colten McPhee, Drew Morgan (4.0), Beau Umbriaco.
Tennis: Alyssa Williams, Hannah Schweikert (4.0), Julia Sowerwine (4.0), Emma Upton, Kylee Dougherty (4.0), Martina Heupel, Anna Pickard, Cassidy Norick (4.0), Trey Perkins (4.0).
