Thomas Patrick Gibbons Sr. (Tommy)

Passed away Saturday May 4, 2019 at his home in Chehalis, Washington.

He was born in Cut Bank, April 13, 1940 to Ralph and Kathleen Gibbons who were longtime residents of Coram.

Tommy’s grandparents, Patrick and Elva Connolly homesteaded northeast of Cut Bank in 1907. During World War II, Tom’s parents, Ralph and Kathleen, along with her parents, Pat and Elva Connolly, lived on Seville Flats west of Cut Bank on 80 acres of farm/ranch land. Tommy’s father Ralph worked at the Cut Bank Army Airfield as an electrician. Kathleen was a farm wife and raised four children there. As the war was ending, the family moved to Coram in 1944 to work on the Hungry Horse Dam. Tommy went to school in Coram and attended high school in Columbia Falls. Before moving to Cut Bank, he worked in the woods at different jobs in Flathead County.

Tommy was a hard worker his entire life. He was always helping others who were in need. It was nothing to see him take complete strangers home from time to time and would give them a meal and help them in any way possible. His faith in God and the church were always a large part of his life. In his younger years he worked in the oil fields in Cut Bank. He relocated to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1967, were he worked in the timber industry in various jobs from working in the mills on the green chain to driving logging truck, until a stroke in 2004. He lost the use of his hand and eventually most of his independence. He always enjoyed the outdoors and being with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters Sharon Wright and Deanna Harris.

Tommy is survived by his children, Lisa (Allison) of Olympia, Washington; Tom Jr. of Rochester, Washington; Chris of Sandpoint, Idaho; Mike of Spanaway, Washington; Nick of Chehalis, Washington; Sean of Niceville, Florida; and Annie Casquejo of Centralia, Washington. He had 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his remaining siblings, Ralph of Fremont, Nebraska; Elva (Henderson) of Shelton, Washington; and David of Rochester, Washington.

There are many more individuals, to many to name, that always have been considered family.

He will greatly be missed.

Celebration of Life will be held June 29, 2019, Sandpoint Christian Center, 1925 N Boyer Ave, Sandpoint, ID at 1 p.m.

Kay Ann Bush, 70 of Columbia Falls, passed away June 14, 2019 at her home. No services are scheduled. Kay is survived by her daughter Tina Speas and her husband Ralph Sievers. Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for Kay’s family.
