‘Garage sale’
Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will have an indoor garage sale on Saturday, June 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Room in Columbia Falls. Lots of miscellaneous items. For information call Sherry at 892-5990. Proceeds will be donated to Stonecroft Ministries.
Another garage sale
The Columbia Falls Senior Center will host a community garage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Lions concerts
The Columbia Falls Lions Club concert series at Marantette Park kicks off this Thursday with the Don Lawrence Orchestra and its big band sound. Concert starts at 7:30 p.m. A $3 per person or $5 family donation is gladly accepted.
Car and bike show
The Montana Veterans Home will host a car and bike show Saturday from noon until 3 p.m. Car registration is at 11 a.m. Lunch (burger, chips and a drink) will be available for $5. All proceeds will benefit the Montana Veterans Home. For more information, contact Mindi Thomas at 406-270-8570.
Johnson talk
Montana House welcomes guest author, Marc C. Johnson, for a presentation and book reading on Saturday, July 13, at 7 p.m. Please join us to learn about Marc’s recently published book, “Political Hell-Raiser, The Life and Times of Senator Burton K. Wheeler of Montana.” After the presentation Johnson will be available to sign copies of his book. This event is free and open to the public. The Columbia Falls Community Market will be Thursday night at the Coop starting at 5:30 p.m. Beer by Flathead Lake Brewing, Whistling Andy’s Distillery and music by Luke Lautaret Project.
Bird walk
Join local expert birder Paul Rossi on Saturday, June 22 from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. to explore a variety of habitats along Highway 2 toward East Glacier, including the great bird diversity of the Lubec Lake and Coonsa Creek area. Bird outing
Join refuge Lost Trail wildlife biologist Beverly Skinner on Sunday, June 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. the incredible wetlands and grasslands of this hidden jewel west of Kalispell. See nesting trumpeter swans and an abundance of shorebirds and waterfowl species associated with Palouse prairie, riparian/wetland, and larch/pine forest habitats of the 9,000-acre refuge, northwest of Marion. The group will drive and walk along some of the refuge’s closed roads with short hikes on uneven ground for better viewing.
