Two Kats softball players named All-State, five All-Conference
Five Wildkat softball players picked up post-season honors last week as the Northwest A All-Conference and All-State teams were named.
Senior infielder Trista Cowan was an All State and All-Conference First Team after batting .567 in the regular season with 10 doubles, 1 triple and four home runs. Cowan drove in 23 runs and scored 24 times. Cowan only struck out one time in 60 plate appearances for the Kats during the regular season.
Senior outfielder Kaylee Ashe was also an All-State and All-Conference First Team selection after batting .441 during the regular season with seven doubles, a triple and one home run. Ashe recorded seven RBI, stole five bases and scored 20 runs.
Senior infielder Ryley Kehr was an All-Conference Second Team selection. She hit .387 in the regular season with nine doubles and one home run. Kehr finished the regular season with 19 RBI, scored 13 times and stole two bases.
Sophomore utility player Alyssa Blankenship also made the All-Conference Second Team after hitting .387 with five doubles and three home runs. Blankenship finished the regular season with 15 RBI, scored 25 runs and stole three bases.
Junior catcher Graceanne Sevesind was an Honorable Mention selection to the All-Conference team. She hit .500 this season with seven doubles, one triple and one home run. She batted in 17 runs, scored 13 times and stole two bases.
The Wildkats finished second in the Northwest A Conference this season after going 5-3 in conference and finished 15-12 overall after winning three and losing two at the state tournament.
