Another mural graces Nucleus, summer ice cream stand could follow

Ice cream could soon be complementing the baked goods and coffee at Uptown Hearth on Nucleus Avenue.
Owner Terri Feury said Sweet Peaks ice cream has plans to park its food truck on a pad next to the bakery this summer.
Feury recently commissioned artist Danielle Taylor to paint an expansive mural on the side of the building that depicts a grove of aspen trees reaching skyward.
The area will get some landscaping and Sweet Peaks, which has a standalone ice cream shop in Whitefish, is expected to have its truck there sometime in early July, Feury said.
Ice cream aside, the mural is yet another piece of large artwork to grace walls in the Nucleus District.
The Nord building has a large Mel Ruder photo, the Masonic temple has two murals that depict the early history of Columbia Falls, the Hungry Horse News now has a mural on its cement wall and O’Brien’s Liquor and Wine has a large mural on the north side of its building.
Uptown Hearth opened in 2016 and its bakery has been drawing crowds ever since.
