Free camps

Farming For the Future Academy, located at the Montana Veterans’ Home in Columbia Falls, will be holding cool free summer camps for kids of all ages and ability. Please signup on our website www.farmingforthefutueacademyinc.org

Here’s the camp lineup:

June 11 and 12 Pallet Clocks (take home)

June 17-18 Adirondack Chair, sponsored by Home Depot (take home)

June 19-21 Help build a Pondless Waterfall with native plants in the garden

June 24-25 Music Camp (take home) Student’s will give a concert with their handmade musical instruments for the veterans and farm animals on the last day.

First Baptist Church of Columbia Falls will be holding their annual Vacation Bible School June 10-14 from 9 a.m. until noon. All children age 4 - 6th grade are welcome to attend. Whitefish birds

Join local birders Bruce Tannehill and Gail Cleveland on Saturday, June 8 from 8 a.m. until noon when they will visit some of the best songbird areas on Whitefish Lake. The group will car pool to the site at head of the lake. The trip is limited to 15 people. To sign up and get more details contact Bruce at tanneland239@gmail.com.

Fire meeting

West Glacier will have a community fire prevention and forecast meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 6 at the Montana House in Apgar. All community members are invited to attend. Glacier Park, state, county and West Glacier fire officials will be on hand.

Community market

The Columbia Falls Community Market will be Thursday night at the Coop starting at 5:30 p.m. Music by World’s Finest, spirits from Glacier Distilling and beer from Kalispell Brewing. On June 13 it’s Bozeman Brewing, Willie’s Distillery and music by Jameson and the Sordid Seeds.

After Hours

Glacier Outdoor Center will hold a Columbia Falls Chamber Business After Hours party from 5:30 to 7 p.m. June 25 at its pavilion off Highway 2 in West Glacier. Kickoff summer with free food and beverages.
