Glacier FEAST to host farm dinner
The Flathead Valley’s newest non-profit collective, Glacier FEAST (Farmers and Eaters Advocating Sustainability Together), plans to announce its launch with a “Join us at the Table” farm dinner Saturday, Aug. 17 at Two Bear Farm.
The event will begin with an optional Farm Tour at 5 p.m., followed by appetizers, drinks and dinner beginning at 5:45 p.m.
Bob Quinn, Montana organic farming pioneer, scientist, entrepreneur, and author of the book “Grain By Grain”, will share his insights on what it takes to build a thriving community food system based on his efforts to do just that in his hometown of Big Sandy.
The dinner, composed from sustainably grown Montana ingredients prepared by chef Chis Dimaio (Three Forks Grille) and Chef Tony Traina (Fork in the Road), will celebrate our valley’s sustainable agriculture efforts and envision a path to expanding it.
Spearheaded by a group of sustainable market growers and local food advocates, Glacier FEAST has formed with the intention of supporting the expansion of Flathead Valley’s food growing economy into a thriving community-based system that is values-based and enhances the community’s economic, nutritional, social and environmental health.
Dinner tickets are $75/plate and can be purchased at: https://twobearfarm.com.
